OK, so the super stamper secret to less time in the kitchen, more time stamping, is very simple, really:

M – E – A – T.

Keep MEAT in the house at all times. My hubby will cook dinner any day of the week, if there’s meat to go on the barbie! He will BBQ all year round, even in a blinding snow storm! , he is that dedicated to the grill. So, if he doesn’t already have one, give da’ man a nice grill, and stock up. This becomes the ultimate gift not only to him, but, TO YOU!!!!! Heh, heh, heh!!!!

OOH! I almost forgot: the recipe for the pork chops.

OK, this is not really a “recipe”, cuz I’m a lazy cooker (my son, when little, used to tell me I was a good “cooker”. Sweet baby, yes?!):

-Pork TenderLoin (I buy the big ones, when they go on sale and can get THREE meals out of these for our family of 4!)
-Johnny’s Seasoning
-Cinnamon Applesauce

Cut thick “chops” from the pork tenderloin–I usually make ‘em 1 1/4″ thick. Season both sides with Johnny’s, and allow to sit for 20 minutes or so to absorb into the meat. Grill to desired doneness.
Serve with heated Cinnamon Applesauce, to put on top. Now I *never* in a gazillion years would have thought this to be a delicious combination. But it is tasty and easy! Toss a salad-in-a-bag on the table, and a bowl of steamed broccoli, seasoned with butter and garlic salt, and voil√°! Gourmet dinner in no time flat.

That’s the way to do it, chicks!

  1. I love the card – perfect for dads! As I kid I loved pork chops and applesauce (I can’t read that without thinking Peter Brady)!

  2. Very cute card Julie! Always love seeing your work!

  3. [In her best Peter Brady imitation] Pork chops and applesauce… ain’t that swell?

  4. Hey Julie Girl, loved the card! By the way what is Johnny’s Seasoning? It must be a north western thing as we don’t have it in the good ole south! Know anything comparable? HTH Janet

  5. Sounds like a yummy dinner to me!!

And I sat here for about 5 minutes looking at the card before I realized it said “dad” on it. Oh man, somebody pass the chocolate!

  6. Sounds good to me!

  7. Oh, yes … MEAT is definitely the answer! We are having pork chops on the grill tonight. Yummy! Thanks for the recipe … and that rockin’ Dad’s Day card! :)

  8. You are too cool! Great ideas, and I will have to look for that seasoning!!! My husband isn’t that crazy about grilling, but I don’t mind! I have 1/2 a beef in the freezer, so I am READY! By the way, awesome card!!! You rock!!!

  9. I totally agree, Julie!!! (As I sit in my stamp room while my hubby is grilling and watching World Cup!!!) You’re system … totally works!
