The new Holiday ’06 Release over at A Muse Art Stamps is up!!!!!  You are SO gonna FLIP-OUT! Check out some of my faves–BORIS, and those funky Ingredients, for Halloween–HILARIOUS!!!  And sexy Cat Woman! (hubba hubba!) LOL!  For the holidays:  Prancer, Got the Tree?, Tree Lot, Surfin’ Santa, Patch–and his doghouse, Scallop Oval Frame, Funky Flake & Flake Trio, Santa’s Cookies, and soooooooooo many more!

This is an AWESOME fun release, and so many great new images.  I love that cute Pilgrim Ship, too and have more ideas for it that I can’t wait to put ink and paper to!!!

Now, I’m off for an adventure down at my cousin Janice’s.  She and her family host our Bi-Annual Family Reunion, and as I mentioned before, is the stinker that sucked me into the rubbah vortex over 12 years ago.  She’s hinted at pomegranate martinis, and I *know* we’ll be stampin’.  She’s got a fabulous stamp studio, that is so enjoyable to hang out in.  GOOD TIMES!!!! (insert ginormous happy grin here)

I couldn’t head out without posting this fun little ditty, that features a few of my favorite images from this latest A Muse release:

Knithappens
All images and papers by A Muse Art Stamps, Colorbox Fluid Chalk Inks; French Blue, Dark Brown, Olive Pastel.  Marvy Uchida Mega Scallop Oval Punch.  Ric Rac by May Arts.

This just makes me chuckle!  ‘Cuz, really, you know . . . it does. (wink!)  I learned to knit last winter (basic knit stitch, people, nothin’ fancy, trust me!), and made scarves (that’s all I make and all I wanna know how to make!) throughout the basketball season.  Kept me from comin’ undone during all those cliff-hanger games, watching my daughter play.  (chortle!)

Some tricks:  I tend to get much better placement results, if I stamp the sentiment first, inside the frame. THEN, I stamp the yarn and needles.  It just works better for positioning purposes, UKWIM?  So, as a general rule, I "build" my scenes from the bottom up, as I can better see where everything is landing on the paper–and am unlikely, in most cases, to need a stamp positioner.  Don’t get me wrong:  I am a HUGE fan of the Stamp-a-ma-Jig, and swear by it hands down as THE best positioner on the market, but if I can shortcut any project I’m workin’ on, I usually do.  I’m such an impatient thing . . . (insert rolling eyeballs here)

I did trim out the frame and yarn by hand, which wasn’t hard as I just followed the tops of the scallops.  This is best done when NOT jittery from caffeine.  Hah!

I stamped the yarn image again on scrap so I could use an alternate color, and trim it out, and 3D mount it for dimension.  The ric rac was wrapped around a strip of card stock, and then mounted to the card front, so I could conceal the raw edges and create a nice finish.  This is usually an afternought for me, but this time, I was on the ball and thought that out AHEAD of time.  LOL!

Oooh.  "on the ball" . . . was that an inadvertent pun?  (snort!)

I was catching up on your blog and love your brush with greatness…Carol Duval…how fun!

I was wondering if you were going to give a rundown of trend sitings from CHA?

If you already have (on here or on SCS) would you post a link? I loved your observations last time – you were so ‘right on target’ – i’d love to hear what you saw/thought this time around.

Love your latest designs too…very cute…!!! Amuse and its designers seem to outdo themselves with each release! :)

  4. Knitting is was of my favorite crafts – after stamping of course! After a few years of knitting scarves – try branching out. You’ll be surprised how much you can do with a few *very* basic stitches!!

  5. Julie, you are such an inspiration with all these cool A Muse cards. Thanks for sharing them, I think. A Muse was at the recent Carson (CA) convention and I splurged on both large and small polka dot alphabets (thinking of you all the way…and a few other images as well!

  9. I’m so *happy* the new stamps are up. Love your card! Is the background behind “knit happens” paper or a stamp? I can’t tell.
