It didn’t occur to me to include the dimensions of the vanilla card and the transparency, and how they were secured, on the Simple Bohemian design in yesterday’s post.  So, let me clear that up for everybody. (wink!)

The transparency is an A-2 size (4 1/4 x 5 1/2").  The Vanilla card is  4 x 5 1/4". Adhesive was applied to the back panel of the vanilla card, and then it was mounted inside the transparency card to the back panel.

Because I mounted it this way, there was no way to secure the ribbon through both layers of the design, or around the gutter crease, so it would open and close properly; I had to choose which layer.  I decided that, given the dimension of the ribbon, having it squished under the transparency would not be aesthetically pleasing.  This left me with only one option:  securing it to the transparency layer only.

Thanks, you guys, for all the positive feedback on this design!   I will continue to practice and share my more successful attempts.  If you have any pointers for working with flourishes, bring ‘em on!!! (happy grin)

  1. Aaaaah, now I see!!!!! Thanks for the extra details. I really like this card a LOT!

  2. Thanks for the update! I get it now! :)

  3. You are somethin’ else! Thank you very much!!! You’re the very best part of today!

  4. Thanks for sharing all the details of this fabulous card! I’ve had 3 sets of Rhonna Farrer stamps (including the flourishes) and have yet to create something that I was pleased with! I just adore all her designs but find them hard for me to incorporate into my designs. Thanks for the inspiration, I’ll keep playing in hopes that I’ll be able to create something as beautiful as yours!

  5. thanks for clarifying! i love the use of transparencies in cards – so beautiful!
