All stamp images, Note Card, Paper, and Mini Dot and Star Twinkle Stickers by A Muse Art Stamps; Blank Coaster by American Coaster Co.; Colorbox Fluid Chalk Ink in Dark Brown; Big Impressions Texture Plate (Weave) by Ellison; Cuttlebug Oval Slider Die; Ric Rac by May Arts; Pink Gingham from Michael’s; Larger Green Crystal Sticker by Heidi Swapp; 1 " Circle Punch by EK Success; Coluzzle Circle Template (used for largest daisy); Big Shot Machine by Ellison.

This design was inspired by some beautiful, glittery patterned paper I’d seen at CHA:

Isn’t it purdee???  Yum!  I swapped out the yellow color and lavender colors for more of  a soft, celery toned, green (A Muse’s Moss) and aqua (A Muse’s Surf) and orange crush.

I wanted to try texturizing the bark layer, so I ran it through with my Big Shot–I think the effect is nicely subtle–it’s not as bulky as the Cuttlebug Embossing Folders?  I like those, too, but sometimes, you want something that isn’t quite so pronounced, UKWIM?

The stamping is pretty straight forward, one color ink, right onto colored paper, and then punched out or cut out with the Coluzzle.  Easy, cheesey, lemon squeezey! (wink!)

Ran the ric rac stems through my Xyron "X" and layed them down in varying heights, and 3D mounted the Daisy Spots.  I did have to use my Adhesive eraser to remove any excess sticky residue along the edges of the ric rac.   And, then I embellished the centers with A Muse’s Twinkle Stickers, and used one of Heidi Swapp’s larger celery green ones, for a bit o’ bling!  I’m now wondering if I should have applied glitter to the edges of each of the circles???  BUT, overkill is an easy thing to do, so I hesitated . . . I dunno.  What do you think?

I originally cut the slider from blank coaster material and then tinted it with a pink chalk ink pad, but it was too much/too intense.  So, I tried again with just some scrap Moss Xyroned to the coaster and then cut it.  I liked that much better.

I’m such a sucker for dots and daisies . . . I can’t get enough of ‘em–but that’s OK!  They always make me smile!  These two new funky daisies are from A Muse’s Spring Release–be sure to check ‘em out tomorrow, as that’s when they’re scheduled to be uploaded.  OMW (Oh, my word!) Ya’all are gonna FREAK when you see this release . . . I haven’t stopped bouncin’ since I first saw ‘em  . . . (ginormous grin!)

Now, I have a serious back-log of emails that I’ve been trying to get to, and I beg your understanding if I don’t always return them in a timely fashion, or if I miss yours. I try desperately to respond to every one, in order of highest urgency, but, sometimes, I just cannot get to them all . . . (sad)

I had to do a tremendous amount of keyboard work prior to CHA, and during CHA–and, every time I reached out to shake someone’s had at CHA, I nearly passed out in pain when they clasped my hand, and since getting back, I’ve had to do even more keyboarding . . . it has taken a toll on my right (stamping) arm, even tho I kept my brace on . . .  I have been icing it, but I still can’t even hold a coffee cup in my right hand. (wince!)  Anyway, please forgive me, if I don’t get to your emails right away.  The arm just craps out on me after a certain point each day and I hafta stop.

Hayley’s ACL surgery is scheduled for this Tuesday a.m.  I know it’s a good and needed thing, but I’m still nervous.  I’m ridiculously squeamish about this stuff . . . to think my Grams  used to dream of me becoming a nurse . . .

  1. Oh Julie – that is cute – I have been thinking of you and Hayley! Please let us know how she is doing!

  2. So cute! Thinking of you today and sending good thoughts your way for Hayley’s surgery!

  3. will be thinking about you today, and best wishes to hayley too :^)

  4. Cute card. I’ll be saying a prayer for Hayley.

  5. Your card is really cute, and SO YOU!! It’s just adorable. I hope Hayley’s surgery goes well, have been there with a son, and it’s not too bad. Just be prepared to see a REALLY BIG bandage on the knee when she comes out! Her knee will be buried in there underneath! Best wishes to you all in the coming days :)

  6. Love the card and I’m praying that God will give the surgeon and staff wisdom, give Hayley quick healing without complications, and give you the peace that passes all understanding.

  7. What a jazzy card. Love the background, the colors, the sparkle!
Keeping you and Hayley close in my prayers.
Rest your wrist tomorrow if you can. A day off now and then might be a good thing.
