Typically, I don’t engage in anything that makes me break a sweat.  I know I should.  Exercise is good.  Being in shape is good.  And, I am *so* not.  Not in shape, and not good.  Bwah ha haaaaaaaaaa!!!

This design was inspired by a friend of mine who aspired to run in the Boston Marathon.  She did it! I was amazed!  She trained for months–amazing dedication and stamina!

But, when I consider just taking a walk, I usually mean sitting.  With coffee . . .  possibly muffins.

Anyhoo, after I completed it, I thought it didn’t really look like "The Boston Marathon", UKWIM?  So, I masked off the runner’s legs, and stamped the brownstone.  For some reason, even tho I have never been to Boston myself, I imagine there are brownstones lining the streets, going down the hillside, etc. . . . Are there?

Then, I snagged a fine point black marker and hand-detailed the numbers on their shirts.  Now, it seems more like THE Boston Marathon.

Whaddya’ think?  Yay or nay?

  1. I am from Boston and you nailed these cards! The Boston Marathon is a ‘rite of Spring ritual’ around here and you have inspired me to ‘run’ out and buy this stamp! Not inspired me to actually run….thats just crazy talk!!!

  3. I think they are both adorable. #1 is more “5K”, #2 more marathon. My DH is a runner and I slowly aspire. Any chance on AMUSE releasing any man runners? I’m sure they could sell some major stamps, especially to all the mommas of runners. Great inspiration as well. God bless.

  4. I just love these cards, Julie! The magnificence is in the details – love the brownstones, love love love the bib numbers.
I do love to run – but no Boston for me anytime soon.

  5. I like the detail of the numbers on the jersey, and the concept of a bit more of a scene for them to be running in. From the thumbnail I thought they were jumping hurdles. Is it the scale of the building stamp that is throwing it off? I can’t put my finger on it.

  6. Both look great, but I love the added detail on the second! (I don’t like to run either…phew!!)

  7. I work in Boston, and the marathon ends right outside my office building at work. I would definitely agree that you’ve nailed it! Towards the end when they are running through downtown, this is what it looks like!! You also captured what they call “heartbreak hill” AAACK! not for me, thanks!

  8. I am so with you on the no-exercising thing. Just posted something similar using the Yoga girl myself! I love both cards. The first one reminds me of the old days in track during High School. The second, definitely marathon material! There’s a classmate from High School that I know still runs marathons (did the Ironman in HI) and trains folks to run them, too. She’s amazing.

  9. Well, I used to run, that is until these old knees gave out. Doc told me I’d be using a cane by my 60′s so I quit. I’ve taken up coffee and chocolate chip muffins, very invigorating I must add! LOL I’ve been to Boston three times and love it! There are lots and lots of Brownstones, you should see them from an airplane! The only difference is that there are NO spaces in between, it’s one right after the other. I love these cards, super fun!

  10. I just ran a 10 mile race this past Saturday. First time ever! My goal was just to finish- and I did! I love these runner girl stamps. There are hardly any stamps out there for running as a sport. So, thanks for opening my eyes to them! I actually like the 1st card better. I mostly run in the country, not in the city, so it’s more realistic to me!
