I have a thing for birds.  Can’t help it.  They’re such wondrous winged things, UKWIM?

It can be quite the challenge to showcase an image as tiny as this, so I decided to try an "Inchie".

Inchies, as the name implies, are 1" squares of artwork.  See this intriguing article by artist Norma Jean Brevik, for more info:  Download BrevikPDF.pdf   They’ve become hugely popular and people trade them–like ATCs (Artists Trading Cards).  Then, there are "Twinchies", which are 2" squares.  But, I digress . . .

One of my all-time favorite A Muse background images is the Flowers & Vines–wonderful for so many different uses!  Because of the size and scale of the imagery in it, I thought it would work perfectly with Solid Bird, due to their sophisticated style.

The background was first stamped in green, over Cabana Blue paper, and then I found a spot that made the perfect perch for Solid Bird, which was stamped in brown.  I used colored pencils to color right over the top and make them pink.  I then centered the image through the back side of my 1" square punch in a pleasing fashion.  The piece was then mounted to an actual matboard Inchie by Inchie Arts.  They make a nice foundation, and using them is rather like "the easy button"!  UKWIM? *chuckle*

That’s our brand new, GAAAAW-JUS Aqua Mist Sheer Ribbon!  Oh, it’s wicked YUMMY, I tell ya’!  It helped tie in the Cabana Blue of the Inchie to the whole piece.

A little bit of piercing and some scored lines with my Scor-Pal, gave just enough added interested so as not to detract from the focal.  I love that "just because" sentiment . . . the crispness of the fonts in it really compliments the style of the Inchie beautifully.

Lastly, I went over the top of the blossoms with Fruit Punch Stickles (Glitter Glue).  It’s a nice warm pink that accentates the color of the Chiffon Pink Note Card.

I just LOVE how this piece turned out–lots of bouncin’ here over it!
