I know when you see the Trees 2 set, you may not recognize the tree top used on this design, but, it actually is part of the set.  I did something a little tricksy, that I learned from Lisa Spangler, of whom I am a ginormous fan! *mondo grin*

Lisa did a project where she flipped the detail side of the image over and mounted it to the acrylic block and proceeded to ink up the BACK side of the stamp!  Isn’t that genius?!

So, I figured I’d try it and I thought it was a super-cool and different look for this image!

I was also inspired to try an unusual landscaping idea I first spied in one of Suzy’s creations  (scroll down to the 2nd card)–I thought the effect was so different and full of texture!  I sponged the sky lightly when I finished that part, and then decided the tree would look cool if I added some Spica Clear Sparkle to the edges.

I really love this color combination; I don’t really gravitate to earth tones that much, but, when I bring in some blue, that seems to make it easier for me to work with them.

These new Tree sets have really sparked a creative frenzy for me, and I’ll be sharing more ideas with them throughout the week.

Happy Monday!
