Link: Paper Trufflez: YAY! Today’s World Card Making Day!.

So, I had the best laid plans–I was gonna stamp on WCMD, but, I’d been sick with the flu earlier in the week; thought I was on the mend.  But, the flu bug decided it wasn’t finished yet and came back to haunt me over the weekend.  (insert growly face)

But, today was a better day, at last, and I got to sit down and make this:

Surprisingly enough, I was able to use ALL the colors in the scheme!   I’ve always wanted, but, never gotten around to trying one of those cute punched pumpkins–just punch 5 ovals and layer them together to create a pumpkin!  Spiffy, eh?!  For texture, I embossed the orange card stock with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder–LOVE that thing!

I don’t sponge edges very often, but, on this design it seemed to suit the warm earthy color scheme.  The ruled paper is from a page of notebook paper I photocopied onto vanilla card stock.

The oak leaf from the Leaves set showed up very well against the French Roast card stock when stamped with Palette New Canvas–stamped very crisply and I like the almost ghostly, faded white effect against the deep rich brown.

If you get a chance to try either the color combo, the layout or combine the two, come back and leave me a link, like Tinla did!  It was really fun for me to see what she did, and her card turned out darling!  Be sure to check out her gallery, too, cuz she has shared some wonderful designs!

This is a little maple tree in our backyard–this isn’t the best shot, but, I just thought the colors were so pretty–we have lots of evergreens all around where we live, so when a tree busts out in leafy glory like this, it’s quite a splash of color against all the green!

Reminds me that it’s time to whip up a big happy batch of pumpkin dip–YUM!
