I’m guesting once again over at Lawnscaping! This is probably one of my favorite techniques; it’s not messy. Hah!

Here’s my take:

Even tho I love it, paper piecing can sometimes require a lot of fussy-cutting; having dies that match the stamp set (Critters At The Dog Park), reduced a lot of the work here on this design. I suffer from tendinitis in my right arm/hand and anything that involves a tedious motion (things like cutting, stirring, typing, mousing, even writing etc.) can really aggravate that condition, so it’s nice to still be able to do this technique without ending up in a world o’ hurt!

Note: I had to laugh… as far as “mousing” goes, I meant using a computer mouse, not catching mice… ;) This girl don’t touch mice. Ever.

Wanted to mention that altho it may be hard to see in the pic, I also accented their noses with a black glaze pen. Love how that thing adds such a nice glossy touch!

Do you have a pup? I do. If you’re new to my blog, you may not have met mine yet… Allow me to introduce you to Bear:

He’s a pure-bred American Eskimo (often referred to as an Eskie). Back story: HERE.

Have a gooder day! :)

  1. I LOVE how you put the dogs overlapping like that, how adorable!

  2. I love the papers you used for the paper piecing on those adorable pooches! And Bear is gorgeous!! I have a pooch too and although my family never had dogs growing up I can’t imagine my life without one now. Atticus is a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Doberman mix. You can see him here being thoroughly spoiled:

And here being cute with his daddy:

  3. Love your critter card, Julie. Ha, ha – I loved reading your Bear story. He’s such a cutie! I think your son is wise beyond his years in choosing the little one. The smallest pup in a litter is usually the most compliant, so he indirectly made your life with a pooch much easier. LOL – you lucky gal! As you can see from my profile pic – I’m a long standing pup lover, and a sucker for punishment. Siberians have lots (and I do mean lots) of hair! I keep coming back for more – he’s our third Sibe, and I even tried my hand at doing the whole dog showing gig awhile back.

  4. AWWW- your pooch is so pretty! Any dog lover will need to have this stamp set! I love how you have the one dog jumping over the other. Just like they do ‘for real’ when they play. Thanks for such a cute card.

  5. Glad to see you hadn’t turned into a cat (mousing?…really?). Your card made me smile, so typical of dogs at the park. Cute and clever (as always). BTW, Bear is gorgeous.

  6. That is such a cute card, Julie! And Bear looks so cuddly and cute! Thanks for joining us at Lawnscaping!! :)

  7. Such a cute card! I love that dog stamp set! :)
