I’ve been havin’ fun with some of the new Savvy Stamps Holiday Dies! The above design was sparked by some *uber* awesome pillows I pinned to one of my Pinterest boards (the Holly Daze). I really like the grey, red & white together!

The Hero Arts/Sizzix (Christmas Words &) Dots embossing folder was a favorite of mine last year, and it’s a definite favorite again this year–those dots make the perfect snowfall texture!

I’m also havin’ a love affair with Bazzill paper… I like the canvas texture and gorgeous color range of their Classic Line and the luscious heavy weight of their Card Shoppe papers, too.  I’m not affiliated to Bazzill, but I really do like their papers!

And, this one was just one of a few ideas that popped into my head when I first saw the little sled die–so stinkin’ cute!!!

The Scattered Dots stamp I used for the “snowfall” is probably one of my most used stamps–makes great snow, confetti, “bokeh”… people laugh at me when I say how often I use this stamp, but seriously, it is a great multi-purpose image. :)

I typically handcut my snow drifts (the layer in the foreground was popped up and both are glittaaaahfied, of course)–I’ve done it for so many years that I can almost do it blind, LOL!  But, if you have trouble cutting those curvy lines and getting them just right, MFT makes a great Snow Drifts die that’ll do it perfectly for you every single time.

Now I wanna go put on some holiday music and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate… Mmmmm mmmmm…

Have a great weekend!

  1. Your holiday card recipients are in for a real treat this year with these beauties! Adore your work, Julie! Been catching up in Blogland today and just wanted to send you a big hug with your news about your mum. Keep strong. <3

  2. Don’t know how you do this every single time…geez those cards are stunning!
I always forget to use tags on my cards too, so will be doing that in today’s crafting time – Thanks!

  3. Hot chocolate sounds good…but what’s really good is these two cards. Saw those pillows too, and let me say, you nailed it. Perfect. The sled card is adorable (I want it). I’m awed that you hand cut your snowdrifts. WOW!

  4. Very classy – love the white, red and grey :)

  5. What super cute cards! I just love your creativity and the absolutely beautiful projects you share. Thank you so much.

  6. The gray looks so beautiful with the red and white – love! And that sled really is adorable! :)

  7. Fabulous cards, Julie. Love the tag focal point on the first one – I always forget to use tags on my cards. Thanks for jogging my memory! I agree – the little sleigh is super cute.

  8. Could not be cuter! These are both adorable!!

  9. Wonderful cards! Are the snowflakes on the deer card on a separate piece of cardstock and layered onto the card or did you run the entire card through the embossing folder?

    • Hi, Pam~ The deer card is a top-folding design and I was able to insert just the card front into the folder and run it thru without having to do a separate layer. HTH!
