Quick & easy. Just the way I like it. :) I been wanting to make this card for the longest time… but the layout never quite worked it’s way out in my head until today. Yay! :)

Die cutting the tree in black gives it that silhouette feel/look… It’s the perfect size for these teeny tiny birdies!  I couldn’t figure out how to incorporate the clouds I wanted, until I finally rotated them upside down. LOVE!!! (arms wrapped ’round self, chortling)

And “faux-sewed” them along the top of the card with a fine tip marker. I keep telling myself to drag out my sewing machine and sew for REALZ, but…this is sooooOOoooo much faster… and tangle-free (!)… for an instant-grat girl like m’self… *snort* Heh, heh, heh!

The patterned paper was the perfect shade of blue for “sky”, and has a tiny pindot pattern.  The birdie was die cut from some scrap Adirondack Coredinations paper–has a subtle canvas texture, but it’s hard to see without a close up.

Not necessarily a “fall” card, but it kinda has that fall feelin’, UKWIM?

Have a great weekend!

  1. I absolutely adore this. The colors together are so calming and I love that sweet little bird. I too am too impatient to actually use my sewing machine for stitching. It looks SO cute but takes too much time. ;)

  2. Lovely card! Definitely has a fall feeling.

  3. Lovely card,

  4. How cute is this…the bird is so tiny but, as you said, perfect for this tree. Pure genius to invert those clouds…who’d a thunk.
