Mother's Day web 01

Did a little faux watercoloring with the Courage set for my Mother’s Day card. I already know she will like it because she’s my mama.  :)

  1. Beautiful card, Julie. I recall you have 4 generations, so I hope you, your mom, your daughter & your granddaughter all are celebrating Mother’s Day together.Hugs to you all.

    • Thank you, Pat! On my mother’s side we do have 4 generations, and on my dad’s side we have an incredible FIVE generations! My Grams, Lilly’s Great GREAT grandmother, is 97 years old. :) Thank you for the Mother’s Day wishes and I hope you are having a lovely Mother’s Day as well. *hugs*

  2. Thank you kindly for your explanation of the difference between the two…they usually are pictured with the cap on, so difficult to tell the difference. Appreciate it and have a lovely Mother’s Day!

  3. This is such a gorgeous card! Love watching your videos. Question please, you are using an art and graphic twin tip marker from Zig … is it basically the same thing as the Clean & Clear or do you get a different effect with the art & graphic markers? Have some birthday funds to invest, so enquiring minds…. Thank you.

    • Thank you, Peggy Sue! The Art Graphic Twin markers have durable rubber “brush” nibs–meaning, it’s flexible but solid, without any individual brush “hairs”. The Clean Color Real Brush Markers are actually like a real fine tip paint brush, but with a marker style barrel that contains ink, instead of a handle. Does that make sense?

Clean Color Real Brush Markers work wonderful for applying color to watercolor paper and then blending out with a waterbrush/paint brush loaded with water, but because of the brush hairs, do not work well for direct to rubber (stamp).

The Art Graphic Twin Markers can do both–color paper, be blended out with a waterbrush, AND be used for direct to rubber (stamp).

I love and use both of these different type markers–but if I need to color directly on the stamp itself, I reach for the Art Graphic Twin.

I hope that explains the difference. :)

  4. What a stunning card!! Two things that awed me is how you used the two way glue pen with the foil-will be trying that-and your use of the gold Stickles along the edge!! Looks amazing!! Happy Mother’s Day to you and your mother!!

    • Thank you, Nora! Yes, try the Two Way Glue Pen for spot foiling–it’s one of my favorite ways to add a touch of “luxe” to my cards! And, I don’t have to be perfect, LOL!

  5. Absolutely delightful card, Julie! Love the soft details and the addition of the spatter of gold is such a stunning finishing touch. I hope you have a wonderful Mother’s Day.

  6. Beautiful card Julie! Happy Mother’s Day to you and your Mom.

  7. Julie, this could not be more beautiful, I am certain she will love it (because her baby girl made it for her!) Happy Mother’s day!

  8. I am so mesmerized watching you work your magic… beautiful card for your wonderful mama… happy Mother’s Day to you both… xx

  9. Dang, but you make this look sooooooo easy, Julie! I have such a hard time with the lack of CONTROL! I will try it, tho, ’cause of you. Is that an Apple watch I see? Thanks for this great inspiration. Hugs!

    • I know, I know–we control freaks have our issues, don’t we???!!! But, this was really fun! I think you’d like it and it gives your stamps a whole new look! Yes on the watch… it’s been more useful for me than I thought AND, my skin doesn’t react to it! YAY!!! (I have severe nickel allergy so I gave up wearing watches years ago; sooooooo nice to wear one again–keeps me on task, LOL!)

  10. A very pretty card. I was mesmerized by this magical process. Thank you for sharing, Happy Mother’s Day Julie.
