ESSENTIALS BY ELLEN NOVEMBER 2017 RELEASE HOP – 1

ig-20171105-ebe-release-available-je

Welcome to the Essentials by Ellen November 2017 Release hop!  Everything starts at the CLASSroom, so if you get lost, be sure to check there! :)

My cards today feature the Abstract Paint Strokes, which I adore!  It’s super fun way to create a multitude of backgrounds!

NOTE:  I’ll be over in the CLASSroom on Monday, 11.06/2017(<<this link will become live when the post publishes) sharing some insights about what I love being able to do with this set, as well as the Totally Random Sayings! Be sure to check it out!

Nov 2017 je-03

The initial idea of this set was to be able to mimic abstract paintings–I just think they are so beautiful and usable for both feminine and masculine type greetings all on their own–not to mention how they can be used to compliment other stamp sets!

I can’t wait to recreate the “collage” effect above in more of my favorite color schemes and make sets of notecards for holiday gifts!

If you’re intimidated by actually painting on your cards, or trying to achieve the exact same paint stroke consistently every time,  you can totally fake it all the way with this stamp set, LOL!

This made a fab background for this awesome sentiment in Crafty Ladies Say, by Brandi Kincaid!

And, heck, you can use paint strokes to spell a thing or two out! LOL!  I used the little tiny heart die from Oh, Frappé! Die set to punch through the “blob” to make my “O”.  Felt so clever over that one… Hah!

Hope you’ve been enjoying lots of eye candy over the last two hops–can you take one more day? :)

Today’s project is a fuzzy one, featuring the Essentials by Ellen Designer Dies, Bear Hugs by Julie Ebersole

I had seen some adorable felt tissue pouches on Pinterest and it occurred to me that Bear would make such a cute one! I cut a simple slit across the mid-section of the front layer, after I had stitched on his facial features and then I sewed together the front and back layers.  Couldn’t resist using some of the Snailed It  Dies to add some accents. I folded up some pocket tissues and tucked them inside, but you could tuck all sorts of things inside–this would be a cute way for a child to put a tooth under their pillow for the tooth fairy to come or tuck a small gift or individually wrapped candies inside! You could even wind up and store a set of those ear pods/headphones to a music player inside him!

Yay! You came back! :)  Welcome to Day 2 of the Essentials by Ellen October 2017 release hop!  Today, I’m sharing a project made with:

This look was achieved by just inking up the images with Distress Ink Cubes, misting water on top and stamping onto watercolor paper.  Borrowed the sentiment from the Snailed It set.

After the stamping was dry, I smeared the ink cubes onto my non-stick craft sheet and picked up the color with a wet paint brush and flicked it over top to give it more of an “artsy” look.  LOVE this effect!

Thanks for stopping by today!  I’ll be sharing another on Thursday 10/12 with the new Bear Hugs Die Set!
