Upside Down Sky…

Quick & easy. Just the way I like it. :) I been wanting to make this card for the longest time… but the layout never quite worked it’s way out in my head until today. Yay! :)

Die cutting the tree in black gives it that silhouette feel/look… It’s the perfect size for these teeny tiny birdies!  I couldn’t figure out how to incorporate the clouds I wanted, until I finally rotated them upside down. LOVE!!! (arms wrapped ’round self, chortling)

And “faux-sewed” them along the top of the card with a fine tip marker. I keep telling myself to drag out my sewing machine and sew for REALZ, but…this is sooooOOoooo much faster… and tangle-free (!)… for an instant-grat girl like m’self… *snort* Heh, heh, heh!

The patterned paper was the perfect shade of blue for “sky”, and has a tiny pindot pattern.  The birdie was die cut from some scrap Adirondack Coredinations paper–has a subtle canvas texture, but it’s hard to see without a close up.

Not necessarily a “fall” card, but it kinda has that fall feelin’, UKWIM?

Have a great weekend!

Feminine Nautical card made for Hello, Monday/the CLASSroom

LINK:  Hello, Monday 10.14.2013 – the CLASSroom

I really can’t help myself when it comes to good nautical stuff, and I ADORE the style on this particular set by WPlus 9! I usually reach for the red, white & blue when I design something nautical–so classic, UKWIM? But, I wanted this design to be decidedly feminine. :) Swapped in turquoise, aqua and gold hues and love the results! I was really pleased with this layout, too! Swap the color combo to kraft, black & white, exchange the sequins for star shaped studs, or these cool star shaped wood veneers, and it would make a handsome manly card, as well… Oooh, I should take advantage of this flash of brilliance m’self and make a few of both versions to have on hand. ;)

Oh, yeeaaaaaah!!! *fist pump*

Persimmon & Gardenias…

LINK: Hello, Monday 09.09.2013 – the CLASSroom

Loving the look of the detail (Gardenia) die over the background cut from vellum on this recent Hello, Monday design… I think the Persimmon collection by Basic Grey is one of the best they have ever done–all too often, I buy patterned papers because they are so beautiful and the color combos inspire me, but I tend to hoard them, instead of use them. *hangs head in shame*

But, hey, I’ve used this collection a couple times now. That’s pretty good… for a hoarder like moi. ;)

BTW, please revisit next Monday (09.16.2013); I will be posting a giveaway for sumpin’ quite goodly. *grin*
