Glitter & Sticky Stuff…

LINK: Hello, Monday 08.26.2013 – the CLASSroom

I think gremlins are messing with ALL my equipment lately… It’s enough to make a girl wanna gnash her teeth and tear her hair out. Which is never good because teeth gnashing leads to headaches and tearing one’s hair out leads to… baldness. *spew*

I’ll spare you the baldness and share a card instead. Heh, heh, heh! ;)

If you’ve never used Sticky Stuff embossing powder before, or have had trouble in the past, be sure to pop in on the CLASSroom post linked above (under the pic). I’ve been using this powder for a loooooong time and have shared some pointers I’ve learned along the way.

The Persimmon collection by Basic Grey is GAAAAW-JUS! As in, make-me-pet-that-paper-allohhhhvaaahhh kinda GAAAAW-JUS!!! Because of the blues, I just had to use me some o’ that navy micro-fine glitter. It is SO shimmery! If you’re looking for a little chunkier glittered effect, you could try Stickles Dry Glitter in True Blue–it’s not “navy blue”, but I bet it would also be quite dazzling!

The MFT Butterfly stamp set has coordinating dies that match the winged creatures in the set–no fussy cuttin’ required! I love that big glassy-like button! Did your jaw hit the floor to see me use something so big? LOL! I know, I know; it’ll hafta go via padded envy or be hand delivered. But, I knew it would look so purdy, I couldn’t resist.

I’m off to Sacramento, teaching live classes–been crazy busy finalizing the remaining samples and excited to see my friend Stephanie, and all the gals!

Have a fabby day!

My article for the monthly newsetter is up! Be sure to click the link above to read up on all the how-to’s. :)

Featured Dies: My Favorite Things “By the Numbers” , “By  the Letters“,  Stacking Stars

Featured dies:  Savvy Stamps Handwritten style “thanks” and My Favorite Things  “Say What” (Speech Bubbles)

Featured Dies: My Favorite Things Flat Bottom Clouds , Memory Box Co.  A Little Rain, Petite Umbrella

I’ve been wanting to try all these  for quite some time–they’re all very easy–actually, even easier than I realized they would be, but for one reason or another I’d just never gotten around to it. Now I can cross those off m’ bucket list! HAH!

Chose this color palette from one of my Pins on Pinterest (Coloring My World Board)–I have a hard time choosing colors, so it’s nice to have an arsenal of palettes at my fingertips that I know already work well together, LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hydrangeas and messy watercoloring…

LINK: Hello, Monday 08.12.2013 – the CLASSroom

I kinda surprised myself with this card–I don’t normally go for quite this much dimension, but this hydrangea die by IO is pretty amazing–very well thought out in design and the pieces so easy to assemble to make something… um… dare I say it… WOW!

These days, I’m finding if I *have* to color something, I watercolor it–just slop some pretty colors around all loose-like. Splish splash and you’re done! I likey!

I did sneak in some Stickles–the little flower centers were just beggin’ for a wee li’l bling, UKWIM?! And, the light-handed spatter of Mister Huey’s color mists gave the white linen card base just enough sumpin’-sumpin’– just enough interest/accent but didn’t compete with the beauty of the blossoms… good golly, I think I just sighed…

Happy Mundane!
