Hinged thanks ebersole 001

feat. Hinged Thanks Die

The letters on this die all swing open to the left, revealing anything you like behind! :)  Use the die as is, leaving the die letters together and you can die cut them as is, or…

Separate them and create a grid!

Die cut them through an ombré collection of colored card stocks and stack ‘em to create a “stepped” effect. Quick tip: Use a straight blade trimmer  (or a metal edge ruler and a craft knife) to cut a straight line to the fold line, stop, then continue the cut line on the other side of the fold line to leave the letter connected to the card stock.

Try the same cutting approach, but stagger the letters at different heights to create a vertical rainbow of layered letters! :)

Oh deer ebersole 001

feat. Oh, Deer! & Wonky Backdrops

Deliver a word of encouragement with a funny pun!

Oh deer ebersole 002

feat. Oh, Deer!

Say hello, with a modern splash of color! After stamping the deer, I layered a strip of golden yellow washi tape and then die cut her out.

Oh deer ebersole 003

feat. Oh, Deer!

Here, I used the little flower sprays to create a “field of flowers” for the deer to roam.

Oh deer ebersole 004

feat. Oh, Deer! & Wonky Backdrops

I used a little bit of masking and a row of brushstroke dashes from Wonky Backdrops to create this little scene, with the fawn off a little ways in the distance from her family…

Otterly awesome ebersole 001

feat. Otterly Awesome & Otter Ware

This snuggly pair of otters exchange loving gifts as they float together down the river… Yes, the matching dies will cut the otter’s arms so they can clutch accessories! *big cheesy grin*

Otterly awesome ebersole 002

feat. Otterly Awesome & Wonky Backdrops

Mama and baby are enjoying a cuddle party–the larger otter die cuts slits for both arms so she can snuggle her little one, and other Otter Wares… *chinkle*

Otterly awesome ebersole 003

feat. Otterly Awesome, Otter Ware + Swing n’ Slide Dies

Yes.  I was singing “that song” the entire time I made this one.  In between giggles.

Wonky backdrops 002

feat. Wonky Backdrops (sentiment from Mirror, Mirror)

The triangle pattern backdrop is awesome for creating more masculine type designs, like this one!

Wonky backdrops ebersole 001

feat. Wonky Backdrops (sentiment from Spa Day)

Repeat stamping and deep indigo watercolor effects were inspired by gorgeous examples of Shibori

Wonky backdrops ebersole 002

feat. Wonky Backdrops (curved edge die cut using Swing N Slide Dies; sentiment from Mirror, Mirror)

I love the imperfect, “wonky” shapes in this set sooooooooo much!!! They make great backdrops, backgrounds, patterns for so many other stamp sets in my collection, and yet they can also stand on their own and become pretty much anything I imagine they might be. :)

CARING HEARTS BLOG HOP 2016

caring hearts

Today we are celebrating the 7th annual Caring Hearts Card Drive with a fun blog hop! The purpose of this card drive is to collect handmade holiday cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes around the world. Since 2010 this event has been bringing joy to many nursing homes throughout the US, Canada and Australia. And this year, they are branching out to the UK! What better way to share our love of card making than to bring joy to others, right? We hope you’ll join us in supporting the card drive. Details for the card drive can be found at: Vera Yates Blog & Jennifer McGuire’s Blog.

Gift Card_638-01 No hop is complete without a fun giveaway, right? Simon Says Stamp is generously offering a $150 gift card for this hop. All you need to do is visit and leave a comment on each blog. The winner will be randomly selected from one of the participants’  blog. You have until midnight Thurday, 11/17/2016 to leave comment. Winner will be announced on Vera’s blog on Friday, 11/18/2016.

Here are some holiday card inspirations I’m sharing today for this very worthy and very awesome cause! :)

Peace joy love grp

Let’s spread it, people!

I kinda got on a roll with different ways of using the Holiday Words Die Set . . .

Joy peace love 01

Used the Stitch Cover Plate with watercolor paper, and then cut the words out and 3D mounted them to my card front.

Joy peace love 02

Pressure embossed the Stitch Cover Plate into watercolor paper using the Silicone Rubber Sheet and then glued the words, die cut from glitter paper right over top. I love how using watercolor paper for embossing the cover plate makes it look like a cable knit sweater! *fist pump*

Joy peace love 03

Layered a negative die cut of the words over some Oh Joy patterned paper by PinkFresh Studio and then clipped a piece of starry gold foiled acetate (same Oh Joy collection) over the top, and Bob’s yer Uncle! ;)

FANTASTICAL HOP ROSTER:

Card making for one of the bestest causes? Hope you join in and spread the joy, peace & love!  Thanks so much for stopping by my place today!

Enjoy the hop!
