This week I’m posting a different design every day, featuring stamps and dies from the August 2017 Essentials by Ellen Release

I’m still lovin’ the black and white with a pop of color trend.  Brilliance Graphite Black is the black ink I reach for most of the time–it’s so rich and deep.  The flower and leaves were inked up with Zig Art Graphic Twin Markers (water-based), spritzed with water and then stamped onto watercolor paper.  After they were dry, I just die cut them out and popped them onto the card front.

Over the last few years, I’ve gravitated to using Neenah Solar White #110 for my cards–that delicious heavy weight is a staple among my supplies.

I had seen some pretty Scandinavian prints and patterns on Pinterest and was struck by the bold, blue organic designs!  A little pop of red makes them all the bolder…  All of these were loaded onto the MISTI as a grouping, inked and stamped first with Bahama Blue Memento Luxe.  Then I cleaned off the stamps and reinked only the top and bottom edges of the stamps with Danube Blue, which is deeper and more of a cobalt blue and stamped again, right over the top.  I love the ombré effect…

With the MISTI, you could literally crank out a stack of two dozen of these in less than an hour!  It would make a lovely set of notecards to give!  I was really monkey-clappin’ over this one when I finished, LOL!

The new release is now LIVE in the store! Yay!!! I have links to each of the sets below that Brandi Kincaid and I have created and this week I’ll be sharing a new card idea each day. :)

I’ll also be doing LIVE video on the Ellen Hutson LLC Facebook Page tomorrow, Aug 7th, at 10 am PDT, sharing the story behind the set I designed.

The new stamps are shown below, with links to them in the shop, should anything suit your fancy. :)

Today’s project is a combination of sets–I love how it all came together!

feat. Plant Ladies Say, Rustic Botanicals, Wonky Backdrops + a combination of various Avery Elle Pigment Inks and Memento Luxe Pigment Inks

I used the MISTI to partially ink the stamps up with one color of pigment ink (always start with the lighter), and then after stamping and cleaning, reapplied a darker shade of pigment ink and stamped again.   I love blending and stamping inks this way because there is no risk of cross-contaminating my ink pads and it gives such a great element of depth and dimension to solid stamps. Added NUVO Crystal Drops in Ebony Black to accent.

Do you garden?  I have a black thumb… The only way I can keep a garden alive is to “plant it” on paaaay-paaaah!  LOL!

Thanks for popping over here today!
