Stacked Lattes

Coffee cards have been on my brain lately.  I may just have to keep making coffee cards until I get them all worked out of my system…

TIPS:

  • I used a ceramic mixing palette to dilute my Gansai Tambi–I love the brush tip of my Pentel Aquash, but sometimes using it alone makes it hard to get less concentrated color so I just loaded the tip with color, smeared it around in one of the palette wells (petals), and then squeezed the reservoir of the water-brush to add more water a little at a time to the colors I was working with.  Note:  A ceramic palette isn’t “necessary”; you could use a plastic one.  I’ve just always wanted one like this so I treated myself to it on my birthday.  :)
  • I prepped the surface of my black card stock with an anti-static pouch; this helps reduce stray embossing powder from sticking to unwanted areas due to any oils or moisture on the surface or static electricity.
  • After embossing the sentiment, I buffed away the residual anti-static powder with a Swiffer cloth to restore the rich black color of the paper.
  • I only needed to ink up the outer edges of the background stamp before stamping onto the base card, since the center would be concealed by the top layer.  The scratch paper on top kept my fingers clean.
  • I’m glad I hang onto any and all scraps of Real Wood Sheets–they’re perfect for making my own wood veneer embellishments on the fly with my dies! *fist pump*

LINK:  Hello, Monday 02.15.2016

This was one of my projects during the Winter 2016 Hop last week, featuring Basic Alpha (sentiment) and Up The Happy (balloons)

For those of you that were interested, I was finally able to complete a video for it and it aired yesterday over in the CLASSroom blog.  Just click on the link under the photo and it will take you straight to that blog post.  There’s some helpful tips and such, as well.

By the way, today is indeed the last day to enter the drawings for all the giveaways, so be sure to drop your name into the hat by leaving comments!  To start at the beginning of the hop, here’s a direct link to that post:  Essentials by Ellen Winter 2016 Release Hop

Hope you’re having a fab day! :)

Beyond watercoloring with Peerless, there are really no techniques involved on this.
