Thank You Dots

Needed to make a masculine thank-you card and decided to go with a clean, mod design–I think this Hero Arts/Basic Grey background stamp really helped set the whole thing off!

Whenever I want/need a particularly deep, crisp (non-feathering) black impression, the ink I always reach for is Brilliance Graphite Black. Yes, it’s a pigment ink. Yes, it can be a little messier than most black pigment inks to clean up.  That’s because it’s a faster-drying pigment ink.  Usually, I just set it aside to air dry, or if I’m in a hurry, I will heat set it so I can keep moving.

You can emboss it if you don’t poke along and apply your embossing powder immediately after stamping. You can also use it on non-porous surfaces such as polyshrink, vellum and glossy card stocks; just heat set it.  Yup, you read right: A pigment ink you don’t have to seal with embossing powder on non-porous surfaces. BOOYAAAAH!!! *fist pump*

Everything about this design is pretty self-explanatory so I laid down a music track and cranked up the speed!

Enjoy!

Hope you’re havin’ a fab day!

FEATURED SUPPLIES:

Baby Shower Humor

baby_luck

We were invited to the couples baby shower of the son of a friend of ours and I only had 5 minutes to whip out something before flying out the door to the party…

Having a baby is such an amazing, wonder-full experience and being a parent is such an important and complex job…  Along with those precious tiny fingers & toes, adorable gurgling noises, and the sweet, snuggly smell of a newborn comes sleepless nights, countless messy diapers, and a lot of work for the next 18 years, preparing that little bundle to venture out some day into the big world on their own.

I can’t help but want to interject a little humor when congratulating new parents… because I know what lies ahead… And, they’re gonna need it. ;)

Note: A Dymo Label Maker was used to create the sentiment. I took this shot with my iPhone before dashing out the door, so I wasn’t able to pick up the sparkly shimmer on the stars and baby bundle, courtesy of my Clear Wink of Stella Brush Pen. :)
