A few of you have asked how I did the background on a card I had prepped for sequin tutorial during a recent Hello, Monday LIVE session. Click HERE, to watch that recorded broadcast.

Today is a good day to sparkle…

Today during a LIVE broadcast I shared some tips for working with sequins over on the Ellen Hutson LLC Facebook Page.  I have to admit, Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear sequins are so much a favorite, that I have them in all sizes. All.  They have this “glassy”, almost mirror -like quality to them that I just can’t get enough of.

This is the card I actually made.  I had to have a card to demo on, because it would kill me to glue all those sequins down for nothin’, right?!

I was practicing my Distress Oxide Ink skills.  True story:  This was my 4th attempt at this particular card.  GAAAAH!!!  I wanted a drippy rainbow background.  With those cool water activated effects.  I discovered that the NUVO spray bottles emit the finest water mist out of all the spray bottles I have–super even, super fine! *fist pump* This made me exceedingly happy! I also used the straw from the nozzle on the Ranger Mister to splatter the larger droplets.

I’m not much of a techniques girl; I rarely, if ever, when trying a technique, get what I want the first time out.  Or the 2nd time out.  Or even the 3rd.  But, once I figure out how to get what I want quickly, with consistency, I’m more likely to do it again in the future.  LOL!  And, yes, this was messy.  Had to wear gloves. Oh, the horror…!!!

The “Sparkle” die was cut through the watercolored panel and then popped up on a Fun Foam base (die cut) and then coated with Clear Wink of Stella, and then again with Glossy Accents.  In hindsight, I would have die cut it from the watercolor panel just a little higher, to encompass more of the colorful drips.

Have a fab Monday! :)
